escape rooms
Escape rooms are an increasingly popular activity in Amsterdam. If you haven’t done one before I’d definitely recommend them, they’re great for groups and a really fun way to spend 1-2 hours.
An escape room is a real-life adventure game, in which participants are locked in a room and have to solve a series of puzzles in order to find their way out.
Games are set in a variety of fictional locations, such as prison cells, dungeons, and space stations. The player’s goals and challenges they encounter usually follow the theme of the room.
In Amsterdam you’ve got dozens to choose from – see my top rated ones below.
Sherlocked
I've been told by so many people that this is the best escape room in Amsterdam. Sherlocked have two rooms to choose from: The Vault more difficult) or The Architect.
Escape World: Waterlooplein
With 5 different rooms of varying difficulties, Escape World has some of the best escape rooms in Amsterdam. I did Cabin in the Woods with a group of friends and it was brilliant.
MyEscape Club
Rated as the best escape room on TripAdvisor, MyEscape.Club has 4 different rooms. Judgement Day is hugely popular and features a fully immersive experience with lots of detail and technology.
Amsterdam Catacombs
This 90 minute escape room is located in the catacombs of an iconic church. Involving moments of horror, stress, darkness and flickering lights, this is a fun (and scary..) experience of an escape room.
Game Over Escape Rooms
With escape rooms all over the world, Game Over is certainly experienced in providing detailed and unique room challenges. They have 4 rooms in Amsterdam.
