burgers & ribs

Calling all meat lovers – Amsterdam is full of amazing restaurants serving some of the best traditional meaty dishes you can get your hands on. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below.

Brouwerij Troost Westergas

This is one of my favorite spots in Amsterdam, often heading there for burgers and beer. Troost is a microbrewery located in Westerpark, about a 30 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal. They brew a variety of rotating ales, lagers and stouts from their onsite brewery, and do brewery tours on Saturday afternoons.

Alongside their beer they serve tasty and indulgent food, the burgers and sweet potato fries are DELICIOUS! Booking recommended but you can also normally walk in.

Loetje Centraal

For a big juicy portion of steak, head to Loetje. They have 6 sites across Amsterdam, with a water facing terrace at their site near Centraal Station. The Balinese sauce is a winner.

Van't Spit

Think Nandos, but better – go to Van’t Spit for super juicy, tasty chicken served with coleslaw, fries and sweet potato mash. They only serve ‘Van’ t Spit ‘chickens that are born in Brabant, where they are well looked after.

Pigs and Punch

As the name suggests, BBQ’d piggies and great cocktails are on the menu at Pigs & Punch. We got the sharing platter which was delicious, and enjoyed it in a warm and cosy atmosphere with friendly staff.

€€

Salmuera

Specialising in cocktails, ceviche and steak, this Argentinian restaurant is a restaurant gem. The ambience is cosy, romantic and moody, featuring a rustic open plan kitchen and original Argentinian fire pit.

Cannibale Royale

Open until 2am weekdays and 3am at weekends, this is a late-night indulgent spot for all things meat – burgers, steaks, chicken wings and ribs. Although, they do serve som veggie options, too…! Laid back and cosy, with 5 spots across the city.
