Food and Drink Festivals in Amsterdam

Food and Drink Festivals

Amsterdam boasts one of the best and most varied food scenes in the world – and their food and drink festivals do not disappoint. Taking place throughout the year, Amsterdam hosts several food festivals, both big and small. My favorite food festival is Rollende Keukens which take place in May. There’s also the annual Coffee Festival, Wine Festival, and Taste Amsterdam food festival – just to name a few!

See my top 4 food and drink festivals below.

1. Rollende Keukens

When: Every May

Where: Westerpark

Entry fee: Free

One of my favorite events in Amsterdam, The Rollende Keukens (translating as ‘Rolling Kitchen’s’) takes place every May and lasts for three days. Entry is free, and you can expect dozens of mobile kitchens and food trucks serving food from all over the world – everything from Spanish tapas and prawn tempura to Texan BBQ and classic Dutch dishes.

In addition to hundreds of food trucks there’s also several bars serving beer, wine, cocktails and coffees and, of course, several stages with live music and DJs. Runs all day from 1pm until 11pm.

Take a contactless card for payments. The festival is located in Westerpark, about 30 mins walk from Centraal Station and this year takes place from 20th-22nd May 2020.

2. Taste of Amsterdam

When: Every May

Where: Amstelpark

Entry fee: €13.50

Taking place the weekend after Rollende Keukens is Taste of Amsterdam. This food festival attracts some of the finest international chefs from around the world, and you’ll have the opportunity to try some Michelin starred food for a smidgen of the usual price. Not only are there great food and drink options, Taste also runs all kinds of workshops, tastings and demonstrations that you can take part in.

Taste takes place in Amstelpark in South Amsterdam, about 30 mins by bike or 35 mins by public transport from Dam Square.
