burgers & ribs

Attention all meat lovers! Amsterdam is home to some incredible restaurants offering the finest traditional meaty dishes. From hearty classics to unique twists, I’ve rounded up a few of my top picks for you to sink your teeth into.

Brouwerij Troost Westergas

This is one of my favorite spots in Amsterdam, where I often head for a great burger and a cold beer. Troost is a microbrewery located in Westerpark, about a 30-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal. They brew a rotating selection of ales, lagers, and stouts on-site, and offer brewery tours on Saturday afternoons.

Alongside their excellent beer, they serve indulgent and tasty food – don’t miss the delicious burgers and sweet potato fries! While booking is recommended, you can usually walk in as well.

Loetje Centraal

For a big juicy portion of steak, head to Loetje. They have 6 sites across Amsterdam, with a water facing terrace at their site near Centraal Station. The Balinese sauce is a winner.

Van't Spit

Think Nando’s, but better – head to Van’t Spit for incredibly juicy, flavourful chicken served with coleslaw, fries, and sweet potato mash. They only serve ‘Van’t Spit’ chickens, which are raised in Brabant, where they’re treated with care and attention for the best quality.

Salmuera

Specialising in cocktails, ceviche, and steak, this Argentinian restaurant is truly a hidden gem. The ambiance is cozy, romantic, and moody, with a rustic open-plan kitchen and an authentic Argentinian fire pit that adds to the charm.

Open until 2am weekdays and 3am at weekends, this is a late-night indulgent spot for all things meat – burgers, steaks, chicken wings and ribs. Although, they do serve some veggie options, too…! Laid back and cosy, with 5 spots across the city.
