burgers & ribs

Attention all meat lovers! Amsterdam is home to some incredible restaurants offering the finest traditional meaty dishes. From hearty classics to unique twists, Iโ€™ve rounded up a few of my top picks for you to sink your teeth into.

Brouwerij Troost Westergas

This is one of my favorite spots in Amsterdam, where I often head for a great burger and a cold beer. Troost is a microbrewery located in Westerpark, about a 30-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal. They brew a rotating selection of ales, lagers, and stouts on-site, and offer brewery tours on Saturday afternoons.ย ย

Alongside their excellent beer, they serve indulgent and tasty food – donโ€™t miss the delicious burgers and sweet potato fries! While booking is recommended, you can usually walk in as well.ย ย

Loetje Centraalโ€‹

For a big juicy portion of steak, head to Loetje. They have 6 sites across Amsterdam, with a water facing terrace at their site near Centraal Station. The Balinese sauce is a winner.ย

Van't Spit

Think Nando’s, but better – head to Vanโ€™t Spit for incredibly juicy, flavourful chicken served with coleslaw, fries, and sweet potato mash. They only serve ‘Vanโ€™t Spit’ chickens, which are raised in Brabant, where theyโ€™re treated with care and attention for the best quality.

Salmuera

Specialising in cocktails, ceviche, and steak, this Argentinian restaurant is truly a hidden gem. The ambiance is cozy, romantic, and moody, with a rustic open-plan kitchen and an authentic Argentinian fire pit that adds to the charm.ย
